‘RACISM’- LET’S GIVE IT A THOUGHT!

Have you ever been bullied for being choosy? Taking up a typical decision?  Liking a particular color?  Being short or tall?  Speaking up undaunted?  Dressing up on your own choice?  Liking something without a reason? Addressing someone in the way that you like?  Enjoying the rights of freedom which definitely belong to you?? Yes, somewhere along the flux of this strenuous life, we all would have been forcibly thrown into those awkward situations where we are left with no answer & at least we can’t judge who is the guilty for putting us in such situations!  Give it a thought!

What is racism? - Technically prejudice, discrimination or antagonism directed against a person or people or group of people basing on their superiority of their caste, religion, and complexion over the other. But according to me, when you are denied on your preferences or choices by someone- then they might have been using the brutal tool- ‘R A C I S M’ against you! If a girl is humiliated from buying her favorite trousers, when a boy is insulted from liking the color- pink, when a woman is forced to come back home on time, when a man is bullied for standing by his woman’s decision then don’t say that you are just deprived from doing so. But in reality, they are commanding you to behave as they like, because they feel they own some sort of authority on you, they are trying to showcase some superiority over you, and then don’t you think this is all racism? Give it a thought!

No one is born with racism, it is taught. So proud of our parents, family & close associates out there that teaches their kids young! We all are taught about the difference b/w whites & blacks, that caste & this caste, that religion & this religion, that class & this class, that gender & this gender, there at the tender age! So, racism is an intrinsic term which starts within our homes itself. Give it a thought!

A right of freedom to a particular individual cannot appertain to those who wouldn’t care about other individual’s freedom! Like it is said- ‘In a racist society, it is not enough to be non- racist. We must be anti- racist’. In the same token let us not fight about such big things happening around the world, let us pledge to bring in some change to our mindset. No one has an authority to command over any others. Till there comes a day when we are capable of understanding such nanoscopic things which might mean an entire life to some others - let us tag this as ‘RACISM’ – Give it a thought!

Hope there comes a day where any individual nation would stop quarreling about the existence & superiority of too many religions, castes, skin tones etc., & they realize that there exists only one religion or caste and that is ‘HUMANITY’ and this is which overrules RACISM- Give it a thought!
